Alpha Phi Alpha’s 13th Annual King David Jackson Memorial Golf Classic exists because of the generosity of its sponsors and participants. We invite you to join us for great golf for a great cause! Our fraternity is having its annual golf classic on June 19, 2010, at the Breakers West Golf and Country Club, featuring the newly renovated Rees Jones Course. The new course has been lengthened to more than 7,100 yards and changed into a par 72 layout. A contemporary counterpart to the historic Ocean Course, The Breakers Rees Jones® Course caters to every level of golfer and provides multiple options thanks to challenging water carries, varied pin positions and large landing areas from all tees. We anticipate a highly successful and well attended event.

PURPOSE

Alpha Phi Alpha Educational Scholarship Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization uses funds raised from this event for scholarships, and programs to improve student academics. We shepherd students from middle school and high school giving them the opportunity to continue their education. In 1988, Alpha’s Educational Foundation began a mentoring group, “Men of Tomorrow”, young men ages 14-17. (See “Local”, The Palm Beach Post, Wednesday, 3/26/2008;”TEENS READY TO BECOME MEN OF TOMORROW”). To date we have worked with several hundred young men that have gone on to be successful and productive citizens.

We request your assistance in providing this opportunity to the students in our community. Your participation in this annual fundraising golf tournament is greatly appreciated by our student program participants as well as the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
